Free Information for mountain enthusiasts

Reports on mountain conditions can be found at the mountain information office (OHM), working in partnership with mountain huts of the Mont Blanc range, in order to provide the public with the most accurate information. Maps and guide books are available for consultation. They are a great source of information to use during preparation for a day out in the mountains (huts contacts, weather reports, avalanche risk report…).

During busy summer months, members from the PGHM join our staff to inform visitors.

By using pictures and large scale drawings, this exhibition aims at presenting mountain risks, identifying potential natural risks found in the Chamonix Valley, describing local weather patterns, and global warming affects glaciers.

It was designed to inform mountaineers, hikers, locals and visitors, both children and adults, in groups or individually.

Our staff can organize free presentations and lectures for groups on request.
