Rock climbing

The geological variety of the Chamonix valley, made of gneiss and granite greatly contributes to making it a climber’s paradise. Should climbers be attracted by single pitch or multi pitch routes, the Chamonix valley offers the perfect climbing terrain for all levels.

ROCK CLIMBING Valley crags

VALLEY CRAGS and bouldering sites

The Arve Valley, from Le Fayet to the Swiss border in Vallorcine, offers countless crags to choose from.

Detailed information about the valley crags are available in the guide book “ Vallée de Chamonix, sites d’escalade”, from François Burnier and Dominique Potard.

The valley counts several bouldering sites: in Les Houches, Les Bossons, Le Lavancher, Argentière and Col des Montets.

Climbers can visit our OHM office to look at the bouldering guide book.
